Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a progressive autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. It disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.
Due to the nature of the disease, symptoms vary widely among individuals. The most common symptoms are vision loss, pain, fatigue, and trouble with coordination.
We now consider multiple sclerosis a treatable disease. We can develop a care plan with physical therapy and medications that eases symptoms and slows the progression of MS.
TYSABRI® (natalizumab) is a medication that works by stopping your white blood cells from entering your brain and spinal cord. It can help stop frequent outbreaks of MS symptoms. In conjunction with Biogen-Idec’s TOUCH program, we now offer infusions of TYSABRI, generally given every four weeks.
