About
About Minaxi Jhawer
Dr. Jhawer is chief of hematology/oncology. She is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology and specializes in cancers of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, liver and bile ducts (hepatobiliary tract), pancreas, colon, and rectum. Dr. Jhawer completed postdoctoral fellowship training at Johns Hopkins University. After her residency and fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, she served on the gastrointestinal medical oncology faculty at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She developed and co-led EHMC's disease management team in gastroenterology and hepatobiliary cancer. She co-leads the multidisciplinary cancer conferences for patients diagnosed with GI cancer.
Dr. Jhawer collaborates with colleagues from New York City hospitals on caring for oncology patients and on clinical trials. She has been a principal investigator on many clinical trials and has presented her work at national conferences and been published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Jhawer is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the American Association for Cancer Research. She was recently appointed to the Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Jhawer is active in medical education and community outreach programs. She is involved in development of the survivorship plan, palliative care in the outpatient setting, and integrative medicine atEnglewood Health's Graf Center for Integrative Medicine.
