About Richard Goldweit
Richard S. Goldweit, MD, is Chief of Interventional Cardiology and Chief of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Englewood Hospital. Dr. Goldweit is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology. He specializes in using catheter-based approaches to treat valvular and coronary heart conditions. He holds a patent in arterial wound closure and invented techniques for noninvasive laser blood pressure measurement and bloodless arterial access. Dr. Goldweit founded or contributed to the creation of Englewood's programs in open-heart surgery, interventional heart attack care, patient blood management, and transcatheter valve replacement (TAVR). He also helped establish collaborative programs in sleep and cardiovascular health, carotid artery stenting, peripheral arterial disease, left ventricular assist devices (IABP, Impella®), cardiac CT angiography, through-the-wrist catheterization, chronic total occlusion (CTO) treatment, and complex high-risk coronary intervention (CHIP).
Dr. Goldweit has lectured on various cardiovascular topics including bloodless cardiac surgery, and his research had appeared in numerous peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Goldweit is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He also served on various state and community task forces and cardiac care committees, including the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services' Cardiac Advisory Research Committee.
